14.4 Close the welcome interface

SketchUp has added a welcome interface at software startup since the 2019 version, as shown in the following figure.

For some computers, there may be occasional lag and white screen in the welcome interface when starting SketchUp. This phenomenon may disappear after a few seconds, or it may cause SketchUp to fail to start again. At this point, users can force the interface to close and restart SketchUp.

If this phenomenon frequently affects usage, the following methods can be used to close the welcome interface:

1) Multiple attempts were made to restart SketchUp in order to access the main interface.

2) Please select "Window" ->"Preferences" from the menu bar.

In the "General" section of "SketchUp Preferences", please uncheck the box before "Show Welcome Window".

After making the above settings, the welcome page will no longer load the next time SketchUp is launched.
