Definition of Nouns

Photovoltaic module string (string): In a photovoltaic power generation system, several photovoltaic modules in series are connected to a circuit unit with a certain DC power output.

Array: A DC power block consisting of multiple photovoltaic modules mechanically and electrically assembled in a certain manner and supported by a fixed structure.

Combine device: Equipment between strings and transformers, like, inverters, DC combiners, AC combiners.

Power block: In large or medium sized ground-mounted photovoltaic power stations, the DC power generated by the array is inverted by an inverter, and then stepped up by a local step-up transformer to produce power that meets the grid frequency and voltage collection requirements.

Electrical configuration: The software supply four electrical configuration:

  • DC combiner - centralized inverter - transformer,
  • String inverter - AC combiner - transformer,
  • String inverter - transformer,
  • DC combiner - power station

Slope: Generally, there are two ways to represent slopes. One is through slope angle and aspect angle, with specific expressions such as slope angle 30°, aspect 45°, indicating a slope of 30° to the south by 45°. The other is represent by north-south slope and east-west slope, such as N-S slope with 22.2° and E-W slope with 22.2°。
